This Privacy Policy explains how Wishling handles information when you use the app.
Overview
Wishling is a children’s bedtime story app available on iOS and Android. It is designed to provide a simple and safe reading experience. You can browse and read free stories without creating an account.
You only need to sign in or create an account when you choose to use premium features, purchase or restore a subscription, or sync your account across devices.
Information We May Collect
Free use without an account
If you use only free stories, we do not require you to create an account, enter an email address, username, or password.
Account and sign-in
If you create an account or sign in, we may collect the details needed to identify your account:
- Email and password: if you register with an email address, we store your email and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
- Sign in with Apple: Apple may provide your name and email address depending on your Apple ID settings. If you choose “Hide My Email,” Apple provides a private relay address instead of your personal email.
- Sign in with Google: Google may provide your name, email address, and a Google account identifier so we can create or access your account.
Subscription information
If you purchase or restore a subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We receive the subscription status and purchase identifiers needed to unlock premium content, verify your subscription, and manage access inside the app.
Usage and app activity
To keep the app working and improve it, we may collect limited usage information such as app version, non-precise events (for example, opening or completing a story), story ratings (likes/dislikes) and feedback you submit, and responses to in-app polls.
Push notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a device push token (via Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send updates such as new-story announcements. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Support messages
If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address and the information you include in your message.
How We Use Information

Children’s Privacy
Wishling is intended for families and children’s story reading. We do not require children to create accounts to read free stories, and we do not use personal information to profile children. Any advertising we show is non-personalized — see the Advertising section below. Parents or guardians should manage account sign-in, subscriptions, and support communication.
Advertising
Free stories may be supported by banner ads served by Google AdMob. Ads are never shown while a story is being read, and subscribers do not see ads at all.
Because Wishling is made for families, every ad request is marked as directed to children, limited to general-audience content, and asks for non-personalized ads only. Ads are not chosen using your account, your reading history, or a profile built about you or your child.
To show and measure those ads, Google’s Mobile Ads SDK may collect a device identifier, advertising data such as ad impressions and clicks, in-app interaction events, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and diagnostic information such as crash and performance data. Google’s handling of this data is described in its privacy and terms.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers necessary to operate the app, including:
- Apple and Google for sign-in, in-app purchases, and subscription management.
- Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications.
- Our hosting provider, which stores app content, account data, and backend functionality on our behalf.
- Google AdMob, which serves and measures the non-personalized banner ads described above for users without a subscription.
Data Retention
We keep information only as long as needed to provide the app, support subscriptions, respond to support requests, comply with legal obligations, or maintain security. When you delete your account, we remove your personal account data as described below.
Your Choices and Rights
- You can use free stories without creating an account.
- You can choose whether to sign in with email, Apple, or Google for premium features.
- You can delete your account and associated personal data directly in the app (in your account settings), or by contacting us.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID or Google Play settings.
- You can turn notifications on or off in your device settings.
- You can contact us to ask privacy-related questions or request access to or deletion of your data.
